TAE is a white to off-white rapid soluble granule. Each bag of TAE rapid soluble granules can be used to prepare 1 L of 1× TAE buffer, offering easy and convenient preparation. The main components of TAE buffer are Tris-acetate and EDTA-2Na, with a concentration of 40 mM Tris-acetate and 1 mM EDTA-2Na in 1× TAE buffer.

TAE is a widely used nucleic acid electrophoresis buffer in biology, primarily employed for DNA agarose gel electrophoresis. When TAE is used as the electrophoresis buffer, the migration rate of double-stranded linear DNA is relatively fast. For fragments larger than 13 kb, it is generally recommended to use TAE for electrophoresis separation. TAE is suitable for DNA fragment recovery. Namun, due to its limited buffering capacity, it is not recommended for prolonged electrophoresis (misalnya, overnight).

Catatan: The pH value of the 1× buffer solution after preparation is 8.3 ± 0.1 @ 25 °C.

Petunjuk Penggunaan:

1. Take approximately 600mL of distilled water and add it to a beaker. Place a magnetic stir bar in the beaker.
2. Put the beaker on a magnetic stirrer and slowly add the entire contents of 1 bag of TAE instant granules into the beaker. Stir until completely dissolved.
3. Add distilled water to the TAE solution from step 2 to make up the volume to 1L. This is now the 1× buffer solution (TAE working solution).
