Product Introduction
The Malondialdehyde (MDA) Content Assay Kit is designed for the quantitative detection of lipid peroxidation levels in biological samples by measuring MDA concentrations.
MDA is a major secondary product generated from the oxidative degradation of polyunsaturated fatty acids by reactive oxygen species (ROS). Its concentration serves as a key marker for oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation.
This assay is based on the principle that MDA reacts with thiobarbituric acid (TBA) under acidic and high-temperature conditions to form a pink chromogen, known as 3,5,5-trimethyl-2,4-oxazolidinedione, which exhibits a maximum absorbance at 532 NM. The MDA content in the sample can be determined by comparing absorbance values.
